Bruises and Open Wound

Today in class we got to do bruising and open wound makeup. To start class we made our prosthetic with latex and a cotton ball. We pulled a piece of cotton out of the ball and we painted layers of latex around it to create a wound to be put on our faces. I ran into an issue with this because my latex began to dry up. Here is a picture of my clumpy latex, and the finished wound without any color.

These are the wound.

This bottom picture is my lumpy latex.

While that was drying, I was putting on a basic beauty look on one side of my face. Then I brushed my eyebrow every which way, so that it would be flat and I could put the paste on it to cover it to be painted over. Here's a picture of the beauty look and my eyebrow flattened and pasted.

I then started to cover the eyebrow with some foundation. It did an alright job at covering up my dark hair.

Next, I painted on a bruise around my eye. I did this by putting the Ben Nye purple color right around my eye, then I put the yellow color outside of it around my eye, and used the wet blood color and some green to make it a little more dimensional. I blended this all so it really did look like I got punched in the face.

Finally, I painted the inside of my cut with the wet blood color painted the back of it with the spirit gum, and stuck it to our face. To top it all off and make it look really scary, we put some of the fake blood in our Ben Nye kits on top of it, so it would look like it was really bleeding and the blood was running down our faces. I really liked the end product. It really looked scary!!
