Basic Corrective

Before I start my work in Basic Corrective, I have to explore my Ben Nye kit. I have the TK-2 kit. To get to know the foundation colors of my kit I put the shades in order from lightest to darkest and then filled them into the pyramid and began mixing the colors. Here's some pictures of the process of mixing the skin colors.

It was cool to see all the color combinations you can make with the foundation colors. Next I did the same thing with the lip colors in the Ben Nye kit.

The first row is the pure colors and the levels underneath are combinations of the colors mixed underneath. Up next is the section of the Ben Nye kit with yellow, dark red, bright red, and a darker purple color. I used this section in Nine and Good Person! Here's this set of colors' pyramid.

Other than that one gross looking color they all look pretty cool! Next up is doing half of my face in basic corrective. I was bad at taking pictures that day, but first we put the foundation colors on our arm from lightest to darkest in order to figure out what color matches our skin tone.

Well TK-2 is a little dark for me so we decided that the lightest color should be my foundation and the Olive Tan color should be my contour. Here's a look at the tools I used to do my basic corrective. I used some yellow stick around my eyes and a little green stick on my cheeks. Then I put on the contour and highlight and blended it all together!

Here's the final makeup look. It's so cool how you can see the difference in both sides of my face. Also I did it without my glasses or contacts, so I think I did a pretty good job painting my face with bad vision!
